Implications for the PMP Exam

In the past, there was always a cut-over date for every new edition of the PMBOK® Guide, by which time they would revamp and revise all questions. This time, however, is different as both editions can coexist:

PMBOK® 6th Edition-focused on methods & processes; 7th Ed – Principals/Values Questions regarding principles or values could relate more to either one depending on their context.

The authors of the exam questions for PMP® can also use other literature as references. After all, this is not just a test about books like “The Project Management Book Of Knowledge.”

The most important consequence for aspiring PMPs is that the exam will not become more complex. However, the amount of material you have to work through in preparation increases significantly with every passing year. If possible, take the exam around 2021 or early 2022, just like before when everything was more accessible than ever!
